Meet The Artist

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. My conscious love for art began when I got hold of coloring books, watched cartoons, made handicrafts, and read picture books. My first story was written and drawn on printer paper, folded and stapled into a half-size book. I was in grade school then, and I haven't outgrown that dream.

My career in children's book illustration started while I was working as a software engineer in 2018. Having received a B.S. degree in Information Technology, I continued as a self-educated artist and had been illustrating for both local and international clients.

My works showcase themes of wonder, nostalgia, fun, and humor. I often draw inspiration from life's experiences, looking at the mundane in a different light.

When I'm not doing client work, I enjoy making hand drawn designs for t-shirts, greeting cards, and stickers, among other things.

It’s my ultimate dream to be an author-illustrator one day.

Little Snippets

  • I am fond of journaling to sort my thoughts out. You can read them in my blog, After Nine-To-Five.

  • The English translation of "Sketchbook ni Abi" is Abi's Sketchbook

  • I'm a lover of beautiful skies. Those fluffy clouds and colorful palettes are just mesmerizing!

  • I used to play with cardboard boxes when I was a kid. We lived in a house with a sari-sari store most of my childhood, so there are a lot of used cardboard boxes. I made different sorts of things, like a pencil case and a "video camera"!
